Product Name | mtCheck™ Pyruvate Kinase Assay Kit (Microplate) (KITA1034) |
Description | Pyruvate kinase (PK) (EC 2.7.1.40) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. It catalyzes the last reaction in the glycolysis process. It is one of the main rate-limiting enzymes in the glycolysis process and is also the key to the production of ATP. One of the enzymes, so the determination of PK activity is of great significance. PK catalyzes phosphoenolpyruvate and ADP to produce ATP and pyruvate, and lactate dehydrogenase further catalyzes NADH and pyruvate to produce lactic acid and NAD+. The decrease rate of NADH can be measured at 340nm to reflect PK activity. |
