Pyruvate dehydrogenase (PDH) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells and is the rate-limiting enzyme of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex (PDHC) catalyzing the oxidative decarboxylation of pyruvate, which catalyzes pyruvate deshoxylation to produce hydroxyethyl-TPP, linking glycolysis and the tricarboxylic acid cycle.PDH catalyzes the dehydrogenation of pyruvate while reducing WST-8 to produce a yellow substance, leading to an increase in 450 nm increase in light absorption. |
