Product Name | mtCheck™ Lactate Dehydrogenase Assay Kit (Microplate) (KITA1031) |
Description | Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) (EC 1.1.1.27) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It is the terminal enzyme of the glycolysis pathway and catalyzes the reversible reaction between pyruvate and lactic acid, accompanied by NAD+/ Mutual change between NADH.LDH catalyzes NAD+ oxidized lactic acid to generate pyruvic acid. Pyruvic acid further reacts with 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to generate pyruvate dinitrophenylhydrazone, which appears brownish red in alkaline solution. The color depth is proportional to the concentration of pyruvate. |
