Product Name | mtCheck™ Complex IV Activity Assay Kit (Cytochrome c - Oxidoreductase, Microplate) (KITA1078) |
Description | Mitochondrial complex IV, also known as cytochrome C oxidase, is also a common component of the main and branch pathways of the mitochondrial respiratory electron transport chain. It is responsible for catalyzing the oxidation of reduced cytochrome C, and ultimately transferring electrons to oxygen to produce water. Reduced cytochrome C has characteristic light absorption at 550 nm. mitochondrial complex IV catalyzes reduced cytochrome C to oxidized cytochrome C, so the decline rate of light absorption at 550 nm can reflect the enzyme activity of mitochondrial complex IV. |
