Product Name | mtCheck™ Complex II Activity Assay Kit (Succinate-CoQ Reductase, Microplate) (KITA1076) |
Description | Mitochondrial complex II, also known as succinate-coenzyme Q reductase, is widely present in the mitochondria of animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It catalyzes the oxidation of succinic acid to produce fumaric acid. At the same time, the prosthetic group FAD is reduced to FADH2, which further reduces the oxidized form. Coenzyme Q produces reduced coenzyme Q, which is a branch of the respiratory electron transport chain. The reduced coenzyme Q, the catalytic product of complex II, can further reduce 2,6-dichloroindoxyl. 2,6-Dichloroindoxyl has a characteristic absorption peak at 605 nm. It can be detected by detecting 2,6-dichloroindoxyl. The rate of decrease of indoxyl is used to calculate the enzyme activity. |
