Product Name | mtCheck™ Complex I Activity Assay Kit (NADH-CoQ Reductase, Microplate) (KITA1075) |
Description | Complex I (EC 1.6.5. 3), also known as NADH-CoQ reductase or NADH dehydrogenase, is widely present in the mitochondria of animals, plants, microorganisms and cultured cells. It is the largest protein complex in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The enzyme catalyzes the transfer of a pair of electrons from NADH to CoQ, and at the same time can reduce O2 to produce O2-, which is the main part of the respiratory electron transport chain to produce O2-. Measuring the enzyme activity can not only reflect the state of the respiratory electron transport chain (ETC) but also reflect the state of reactive oxygen species (ROS) production. |
