| Description |
The kit is for the detection of catalase activity in cells, tissues or other samples by means of a color development reaction. Catalase catalyzes the production of water and oxygen from hydrogen peroxide in the presence of relatively abundant hydrogen peroxide. The residual hydrogen peroxide, catalyzed by peroxidase, can oxidize the chromogenic substrate to produce a red product (C6H4ClNO) with a maximum absorption wavelength of 520nm. Using the hydrogen peroxide standard, a standard curve is made so that the enzymatic activity of the peroxidase in the sample can be calculated by calculating how much hydrogen peroxide has been catalyzed to water and oxygen per unit time per unit volume. |
