Product Name | mtCheck™ Aconitase Activity Assay Kit (Spectrophotometry) (KITA1046) |
Description | Aconitase(ACO), an enzyme in the tricarboxylic acid cycle, catalyzes the conversion of citric acid to isocitrate. Citric acid itself is not easy to oxidize. Under the action of aconitase, the hydroxyl group is transferred from the β carbon atom to the α carbon atom through dehydration and water addition to generate isocitric acid which is easy to deoxidize, which is a further oxidative decarboxylation reaction. Make preparations. ACO catalyzes the conversion of citric acid to isocitric acid, and the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitric acid reduces NAD+ to NADH, resulting in an increase in light absorption at 340nm. |
